Top 5 Boys Lacrosse Camps to Attend in Connecticut

GameBreaker Lacrosse Camps were developed with a very specific mission in mind: to provide young athletes with opportunities to become better lacrosse players. To help make that a reality, we provide instruction from some of the top coaches in the game, and do it in a fun and positive atmosphere.

With over 120 different camps offered all over the country this upcoming summer, there are plenty of options available for lax players looking to take their game to the next level!

If you live in Connecticut or are planning to spend most of your summer there and want to attend one of our camps, you’re in luck! We have 11 boys lacrosse camps currently available. Here are five of them that you can choose from:

Fairfield: Aug. 1 – Aug. 4, 2016

Taking place at Fairfield University, there are overnight and extended day options available for prospective campers. Lacrosse legend Ryan Powell is in charge of this camp, which will focus on improving the individual stick stills of campers, positional training and team concepts, along with daily scrimmages.

Danbury: Jul. 18-Jul. 21, 2016

Once again, there are overnight and extended day options available here. The camp will take place at Western Connecticut State University, where there are both turf and grass fields available to use.

New Canaan: Aug. 1 –Aug. 4, 2016

If you’re unable to join us for an overnight or extended day camp, attending one at St. Luke’s School in New Canaan is perfect for you since there are day camp and half-day camp options available. This is open to boys lacrosse players from ages 6-17.

Avon: Aug. 1-Aug. 4, 2016

We’re proud to partner with Avon Old Farms to offer this particular camp at GameBreaker. The school has fantastic facilities that include top-notch dorms, an all-you-can-eat dining hall and tons of fields, including both grass and turf.

Milford: Jul. 11-Jul. 14, 2016

This is another day and half-day camp option for lacrosse players who want to improve this summer, but can’t fit an overnight or extended day option into their busy schedule. Taking place at Jonathan Law High School, campers will learn individual stick skills, positional play, team concepts and daily scrimmages.

While there are plenty of camp options to choose from in any given state across the country, GameBreaker prides itself on building each experience off five basic core values: excellence, fun, improvement, safety and sportsmanship.

From signing up for a camp to actually experiencing it on the field or in the dorms, we strive to make it an unforgettable experience that you want to have every single year. This alone will make it fun, and we do our best to balance fun with improving, while practicing teamwork through leadership opportunities and accomplishing all this in a safe environment.

While each camp stands to be slightly different from one another, there are certain drills, games and development stations campers will go through in order to improve all techniques used in the sport, including: dribbling, passing and receiving, ball control, shooting, defensive tackling, positioning, teamwork, agility, footwork, scanning and tracking and 3D skills.

The qualities you’re looking for in a lacrosse camp will probably be different from the person next to you, and that’s OK! It’s important to know what you want and make sure the camps you’re considering have all those qualities.
