About Our Coaches
Coach Baxter and the Fairfield University Men's Lacrosse Team's Coaching Staff will be directing camp this summer!
A coaching veteran with nearly two decades of collegiate experience, Andrew Baxter was named the Head Coach of Fairfield University Men’s Lacrosse on June 10, 2019. Baxter had served as Defensive Coordinator at Yale University since 2013 and was elevated to Associate Head Coach following the 2018 campaign.
In his first season leading the Stags, Baxter guided Fairfield to a 5-2 record. The mark was bolstered by a 4-0 mark on Conway Field at Rafferty Stadium. In that abbreviated campaign, the Stags led the CAA and ranked eighth in the nation in scoring at 16.43 goals per game.
After navigating his team during the Covid-19 circumstances that prematurely ended the 2020 season and truncated the 2021 slate, Baxter led the Stags to wins over Lafayette and crosstown foe Sacred Heart in the spring campaign.
In 2022, the Stags posted a five-win improvement with a 7-7 mark -- their highest win total since 2016. Fairfield also won a pair of CAA games to snap a 16-game conference losing streak.
As Recruiting Coordinator at Yale, Baxter was integral in assembling the squad that won the 2018 National Championship and returned to the title game in 2019 in addition to claiming two Ivy League Regular Season Championships and four Ivy League Tournament Championships. His defensive unit has led the Ivy in scoring defense in each of his last six seasons and ranked among the top 15 nationally in five of his seven campaigns in New Haven.
Before heading to Yale, Baxter was the Defensive Coordinator and Recruiting Coordinator at Ohio State, where he managed the fourth-ranked defense in the nation in 2012. He mentored 2011 ECAC Lacrosse League Defensive Player of the Year Matt Kawamoto, who was also a USILA All-America Honorable Mention in 2011 and a USILA Scholar All-American in 2012.
Baxter is no stranger to CAA Lacrosse, having spent time as both the Offensive Coordinator (2004-05) and Defensive Coordinator (2006-08) at Drexel. His tenure in Philadelphia concluded with the Dragons ranked seventh nationally in scoring defense in both 2007 and 2008 en route to a share of the CAA Regular Season Championship in both campaigns. Baxter also managed the Drexel faceoff men, ranking as high as fifth in the nation on the draw in 2008.
Baxter began his coaching career as an Assistant Coach at Colgate University for the 2002 and 2003 seasons.
As a student-athlete at Springfield College, Baxter made a pair of NCAA Division III postseason appearances. He graduated from Springfield in 2001 with a degree in Movement and Sports Studies.
A native of Rochester, N.Y., Baxter graduated from Brighton High School. He and his wife, Marika – also a Springfield College graduate – have two children, Rae, born in 2010 and Frankie, born in 2014.
Charles Giunta joined Andrew Baxter's staff in August of 2019 after spending two seasons coaching at his alma mater, Saint Joseph’s University.
A Philadelphia native, Giunta was a defensive assistant and managed the Hawks’ faceoff men during his time at Saint Joseph’s. In 2018, Giunta helped guide a defensive unit that ranked fourth in the nation in scoring defense and seventh in man-down defense. That campaign saw the Hawks win the Northeast Conference Regular Season Championship as a part of a program-record 11-game winning streak.
With Giunta shifting his focus to the faceoff unit in 2019, the Hawks improved their win percentage on the draw by more than 20 percent this past spring. The team as a whole ranked 11th nationally at the faceoff ‘X’, with primary faceoff man Zach Cole slotted 10th in the nation individually.
Giunta also served as Director of Youth Operations and Defensive Coordinator for the Philadelphia Big 4/HHH lacrosse program.
As a four-year starter on defense at Saint Joseph’s, Giunta totaled 41 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers. The Hawks qualified for three consecutive NEC postseason appearances with Giunta on the backline. He was named a team captain as a senior and was one of 20 nationwide candidates for the 2017 Senior CLASS Award.
Giunta in a two-time graduate of Saint Joseph’s, earning a B.A. in Marketing in 2017 and completing his M.S. in Organizational Development and Leadership in 2019. He played high school lacrosse in Philadelphia at William Penn Charter.
Adrian Torok-Orban was named the Associate Head Coach of Fairfield University Men’s Lacrosse in the fall of 2023.
Torok-Orban most recently held the same position at his alma mater, Robert Morris University, serving as the Offensive Coordinator as well as working with the Colonials’ goalkeepers. RMU won the Atlantic Sun Championship in 2022 to advance to the NCAA postseason. In addition to his on-field duties, Torok-Orban oversaw team academics, compliance and alumni relations. He was also a part of Robert Morris’s Student-Athlete Well-Being Committee.
A native of Toronto, Ontario, Torok-Orban also began his coaching career at Robert Morris as Director of Operations in 2019 – also a conference championship season for the Colonials – and spent two seasons as a Graduate Assistant Coach at Mercer University.
As a student-athlete, Torok-Orban was a four-year starter on attack at Robert Morris, racking up 113 points from 2015-18. In his senior season, he helped guide RMU to the first Northeast Conference Championship and NCAA postseason appearance in program history.
Torok-Obran earned a B.B.A. in Business Administration and Management from Robert Morris in 2018. He completed both an M.Ed. and an M.B.A. from Mercer while coaching with the Bears.
McMahon begins his career in 2023-24 as an Assistant Coach for Fairfield Men's Lacrosse following a five-year tenure as a student-athlete.
McMahon most recently played as a graduate student at Bryant University. He totaled 27 points (16 goals, 11 assists) for the America East Champion Bulldogs last spring, including one goal and one assist in the NCAA Championship First Round at Johns Hopkins. He earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Bryant in 2023.
As an undergraduate, McMahon was a four-year contributor in the midfield at Mount St. Mary’s. He totaled 29 goals and 10 assists in his career, including a pair of game-winners. After serving as team captain as a senior, McMahon graduated from The Mount with a degree in Finance.

I had so much fun at camp. All of the coaches were helpful and they taught us so much. My favorite part was playing with kids just as good as me, it pushed me to compete even harder.
My two sons had a blast at camp. They were so excited to tell their coach all of the new things they learned. They are looking forward to returning next year. Thank You.
I had such a great time at camp. The coaches were great. I even won a prize for a shooting contest. I am going to tell all my friends about camp.
Thanks so much for the really great experience this week at Fairfield U. My son, had a very positive experience this week. He has been playing for while and practices in the back yard. After having a less than enjoyable experience in junior varsity in the spring where the coach berated the kids and yelled at them, he really needed the boost. He told me he learned a lot and that everyone was really nice. I love your philosophy of support and encouragement. I think it is so important. He was ready to find another sport after this last spring and now I think he is encouraged to continue. He does work hard and I know you all gave him an award for that. Somehow I think that has got to pay off. Aside from the blisters he developed on his feet wearing ill-fitting shoes, it was totally fun for him.
Learning from an MLL All-Star was great experience. Coach Powell taught us what it takes to elevate our game to the next level. Being a rising sophomore I listened to everything he said so I can improve my game and hopefully get noticed by local college scouts.
My son had a great time at camp this summer. He learned a lot from the coaching staff. My husband and I attended the scrimmage on final day and we could tell how enthusiastic the coaches were by how effortlessly they were interacting with the campers. It was very nice to see coaches who wanted to be there and it added to the wonderful experience.
My son went to this camp and he learned a lot from the coaches. One of the most valuable lessons he took away from camp was that you always have room to improve your game. Before he would sometimes get complacent if he was one of the top players on his team, but now I can already see him taking strides to practice a little longer than usual. Great Job!
My son had to leave early one day because he was a bit under the weather and the next day all of the coaches made sure they came up to him to see how he was feeling. This was great to see, the coaches really cared about the campers and that was very reassuring. I knew I chose the right camp for my son.
Coach Ryan was great to learn from. He knew the answers to all of my questions. It was great to learn from such a great lacrosse player. I made sure he signed a lacrosse ball on the last day.
The GameBreaker Lacrosse coaching staff was great. They were very attentive and were open to answering any and all of my concerns. I wanted to make sure my son worked on his left hand to make it stronger and more consistent. The coaches assured me they would keep an eye out for him and suggest he used his left hand whenever the drill allowed for it.
