Improve Your Lacrosse Shooting Skills With These 3 Tips
There are a number of keys to being successful in lacrosse. However, one of the most crucial points of all concerns shooting and goal scoring because, well, in order to win a lax game, a team has to score more goals than their opponent! Our GameBreaker Lacrosse Camps are structured in such a way that we have specific periods of time during camp that focus on improving your shooting, but we also mix it into so many other areas of the game. Here are some of the skills our coaches will focus on at all locations across the country, like at our Massachusetts Lacrosse Camps: shooting drills, ground balls, defense (team and individual), fast breaks, dodging, stick skills, triangle offense, clears, face-off and wing play, and man up, man down. How Women’s Lacrosse Players Can Cash in on 8-Meter Opportunities
There are certain scoring opportunities in lacrosse that are more advantageous than others. If you’re more of a beginner and aren’t totally sure about what the 8-meter arc is, then we’re here to break it down for you and how it relates to women’s lacrosse. When an offensive player is fouled during the middle of a lacrosse game, they’re placed at one of the seven hash marks eight meters from the goal that’s the closest spot to where the foul occurred. Players inside the arc must clear out and be at least four meters away from the player who was fouled. The player who committed the foul is directly behind the player with the ball at the hash mark. 2 Tips to Help You Improve as a Lacrosse Player
We spend a lot of time working on the physical part of being a better lacrosse player at all of our GameBreaker Lacrosse Camp locations across the country, but that’s not all we focus on during our time with campers each summer. A great example is at our Massachusetts Lacrosse Camps – while our camp directors and coaches focus on helping players improve on the field, they also make sure to talk about the other details that go into being a great lacrosse player. This includes getting a greater understanding of team play and learning the concepts to help make their team better overall. Of course, this also helps build up a player’s leadership skills. That’s important because while one of the more common phrases we hear in sports is [Read More>]
What Does it Take to Be a Tough Lacrosse Player?
Depending on who you ask, the definition of toughness in the world of sports varies based on the situation. What one person thinks is toughness may or may not cross over into other sports. Even if an athlete seems to be naturally tough, it’s a quality that has to get honed over a period of time for it to really make a difference on the field or court. Whenever we’re in the heat of the moment, athletes believe that they’re tough – until they use the benefit of hindsight to see that they could’ve been much tougher than they actually were (or are now). This is all true on the lacrosse field, too. When it comes to our GameBreaker Lacrosse Camps, we try to focus on both what happens on [Read More>]

3 Bad Habits That Every Lacrosse Player Should Avoid
The old adage is that practice makes perfect, but it’s also true when we spin it the other way around. Lacrosse season can be a grind, so it’s not unusual for some bad habits to form along the way.
