OVERVIEW

GameBreaker Lacrosse Camps comes to Sweet Briar College in Virginia for an exciting girls’ summer lacrosse camp. This camp offers top-notch facilities, including comfortable dormitories, an all-you-can-eat dining hall, and multiple fields with both grass and or turf surfaces. Campers will focus on improving individual stick skills and positional techniques, learning team concepts, and participating in daily scrimmages to apply what they’ve learned. Both overnight and extended day camper options are available, making it flexible for participants. With excellent training, great amenities, and an engaging environment, this camp is the perfect opportunity for young athletes to enhance their lacrosse skills and have a memorable summer experience.

Bucky Morris enters his second season at the helm of the women’s lacrosse program after being named head coach in October of 2023.

During his first season at Sweet Briar, the Vixens went 3-10 on an independent campaign with both Ashley Prevet and Renée Taylor being named to the CSC Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Team.

Morris comes to Sweet Briar after previously serving as the head coach of the varsity girls’ lacrosse program at Georgetown Visitation Preparatory School in Washington, D.C. During his two years at Visitation, Morris saw six student-athletes go on to play collegiate lacrosse while also having eight named to the All-ISL Team, four named Washington Post All-Met and USA Lacrosse All-Americans and two selected for the USA All-Academic Team.

Morris also lead Visitation to a victory in the ISL Season Championship and was a D.C. State Finalist in 2022. In 2023, Visitation went on to win the D.C. State Championship. He also coached the DC Metro Team to the USA Lacrosse High School Girls National Tournament Championship this past year.

Additionally, Morris served as the director of both McLean Box Lacrosse and McLean Youth Lacrosse for 20+ years. While with McLean Lacrosse, Morris was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organizations including, developing partnerships with school and community entities, coordinating special events and managing schedules and successfully coaching, connecting and participating in college recruiting. To date, Morris has assisted with over 100 student-athletes in their journeys to playing at NCAA colleges and universities.

From 2017-2021 Morris served as the head coach of the girls’ varsity lacrosse program at Langley High School in McLean, Va. Langley went on to win two state championships (2019 and 2021), four district championships (2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021) and three region championships (2017, 2019 and 2021) while under his tutelage. For his efforts, Morris was named the Liberty District and Northern Region Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2021, as well as the Virginia State Coach of the Year in 2017 and 2019. Also at Langley, Morris produced ten USA Lacrosse All Americans and six USA Lacrosse All Academic Team Selections, twenty-three players selected 1 st Team All Conference, thirteen players selected 1 st Team All Region, and ten players selected 1 st Team All State, plus nine players selected Washington Post All Met. Also, in the four years, twenty-five Langley players have gone on to play college Lacrosse.

Morris played varsity and club lacrosse at Division III Washington College in Chestertown, Md. where he earned a degree in business marketing. His daughter Charlotte played collegiate lacrosse at Division I University of California, Davis while his son Alex played at Division I University of Richmond where he helped lead the Spiders to win two Southern Conference Championships in 2018 and 2019 and made two NCAA Tournament appearances.

The camp’s primary goal is to help young athletes improve in all aspects of their game. With a strong focus on individual skill development, campers will also engage in drills and matches designed to enhance teamwork and game understanding.

CHECK IN & CHECK OUT

All Campers: Check-in between 12 PM – 1 PM on the first day of camp. Pick-up is between 11 AM – 12 PM on the last day of camp.

Extended Day Campers:

  • Check-in: 12 PM – 1 PM the first day, 9 AM every other day.
  • Pick-up: 8:30 PM on Tuesday, and Wednesday; between 11 AM and 12 PM on Thursday.

Meals Provided:

  • Overnight Campers: All meals included (breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
  • Extended Day Campers: Lunch and dinner are provided
  • The first meal is dinner on the first day, and the last meal is breakfast on the last day.

Make sure campers bring all necessary lacrosse equipment, a refillable water bottle, & suggested items in the camp packing list. NO EQUIPMENT WILL BE PROVIDED
