Overview

GameBreaker heads to West Nottingham Academy for this boy's summer lacrosse camp.  WNA boasts tremendous facilities and several fields.  Lacrosse campers will work on their individual stick skills and positional training, learn team concepts, and scrimmage daily.  Overnight and extended day camper options are offered at West Nottingham Academy.  Join us this summer for a great week of lacrosse training and improvement!            

Covid-19 Policy: Proof of Vaccination OR proof of negative COVID PRC tests within 72 of camp IS required prior to arriving at camp. In addition we ask ALL CAMPERS to bring in there health forms, Athletic Monitoring Form, and COVID Liability Waiver to camp check-in.

About Our Coaches

Joseph Graziosi

A seasoned athletic administrator, Coach Graziosi served as Director of Athletics at a New York Prep School for 12 years and coached the lacrosse team to 8 conference finals and 5 championships during that time.  Building a program focusing on character development, mental toughness, and fun has been the formula for his success.  Coach G has served on the boards of and coached in several youth club programs in Southeastern New York.  He was a standout college lacrosse player at Mount Union University when the program started in the early 1980’s.  Coach G is currently an Instructor of Mathematics and Head Varsity Men’s Lacrosse Coach at West Nottingham Academy.

  • Coached at New England Prep School, Olentangy High School, Marist College, Best of the West Lacrosse Camp, Bill Pilat goalie Camp, and Powell Brothers Lacrosse Camp

  • Played prep school lacrosse at Northfield Mount Hermon and collegiately at Ohio Wesleyan University

Camp Details

Check-in/out: Overnight and Extended Day Campers check-in at 12pm on the first day of camp and Check out at 12pm on the last day. On the second and third day of camp, the extended day campers will arrive at 8:45 am and get picked up at 9:00 pm.

Age & Ability: Camp is open to boys ages 8-16, all ability levels welcomed.

Meals Provided: Overnight campers will be provided with all meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. Extended day campers will be provided with Lunch and Dinner

Morning Training Session

Developmental Stick Work
Specialized stick routines involving box and targeted fundamental drills

Position-Specific Training

Defense - including a rotation of midfielders
Footwork – pivot, recovery, and angles
Stickwork – clearing, carrying, and stick protection
Field Awareness – slide, recovery and on-ball play

Attack 
Situational Awareness – spacing, vision, and offensive flow
Shooting– time and room, on the run, shot placement and selection
Dodging – from, X the ally and up top
Riding – drop back, pressure, and 10-man rides

Midfield
Situational Awareness – spacing, vision, and offensive flow
Shooting– time and room, on the run, shot placement and selection
Dodging – from, X the ally and up top
Defensive Play – body positioning, field awareness, and sliding

Goalie
Communication - ball positioning, dictating the defensemen’s position and slides
Mechanics – placement in cage, off stick, and stick side movement
Clearing – Moving the ball quickly, communicating where to go with the ball, and stick work

Face-Off Specialist
Mechanics – footwork and body positioning
Outlets – pushing the ball to wings, communicating how and where they should go
Draw – speed work, counter moves, and development of additional moves

Afternoon Training Session

Unsettled Situational Game Play, focused on special awareness specific to each type of situation
2v1 Fast play from the ally, X and Y
Crossfield 3v2 continuous play
3v4 off the ground ball and clears
Full-field transitional continuous play

Grouped Position-Specific Training- Attack vs. Defense, Midfield vs. Midfield, and LSM’s
1v1’s, 2v2’s 3v3’s, 4v4’s– from all positions on the field focusing in
on specific game philosophy’s, techniques, and spatial awareness

Specialized Team Building and Leadership Events
Lacrosse capture the flag, lax baseball, lax water balloons, lax maze runner, ultimate lacrosse, and other leadership activities

Evening Training Session

Game Play - Clear ride scrimmage, full-field scrimmages, camp championship tournament, 7 vs 7, box lacrosse tournament
