About Our Coaches

Danielle Fiala

Danielle Fiala '13 joined the North Central College coaching staff in the summer of 2015 as the second head coach in the history of the Cardinals' women's lacrosse program.

Her first season at the helm came with much success, as the Cardinals finished with an overall record of 13-5, setting a program record for most wins in a single season. The 2016 team also set single-season records in goals scored (281), assists (152), points (433) and draw controls (217). Four individuals were named to the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin All-Conference teams.

In 2018, Fiala and the Cardinals finished 16-3 overall to establish the current school record for wins in a season along with school records for goals scored (303), ground balls (468) and draw controls (297). North Central has posted an overall record of 39-16 in Fiala's three years as head coach.

A four-year starter for North Central from 2010-2013 and the program's current career scoring leader, Fiala returned to Naperville after two years at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa, where she started the Knights' program as its first head coach shortly she graduated from North Central with a bachelor's degree in sport management in spring 2013.

After spending the 2013-2014 academic year recruiting Wartburg's initial women's lacrosse team, Fiala guided the Knights to a 4-12 record in their inaugural season last spring. Wartburg finished 3-4 in Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) play and had three players selected to the All-MWLC Teams.

Fiala started 58 games in her four years in uniform for the Cardinals and helped lead the team to its current single-season school record of 12 wins as a senior. She scored a school-record 165 goals and earned All-MWLC honors three times, including First Team accolades in 2012 and 2013.
