About Our Coaches

Jeremy Napier

Napier has over 20 years of lacrosse in his background as a player and a coach.  As a Division 2 club lacrosse player, Napier was a 4-time All-CCLA goaltender and 3-time captain for perennially ranked Eastern Michigan University- including an MCLA tournament birth and 2 CCLA championship games.  After graduation, Napier went on to win a gold medal in the 2006 World Games in London, Ontario, before being selected to the Chicago Machine practice squad in 2007 during an open tryout.

After working professionally in Chicago, Illinois and San Diego, CA from 2006-2012, Napier moved back to Southeast Michigan to co-operate Team Total, a nationally recognized club team based out of Wixom, MI.  Simultaneously, Napier became the head varsity coach at South Lyon High School in 2012.  Previously a fledgling program without a single championship, Napier would guide South Lyon to 2 division titles, a regional championship, a final four appearance, and their first ever All-American from 2012-2014.  In addition, Napier also was awarded Oakland County coach of the year- Michigan’s premier location for high school lacrosse, and Michigan High School Athletic Association coach of the year in 2013 for the state of Michigan.

To help grow the game in his home state, Napier and his high school staff took over Belleville High School, a previously winless, brand new program.  In a 3 year span, Napier would go on to post a 37-15 record, including the school’s first ever playoff wins, first All-State and Academic-All State players, and their first ever NCAA players.  Through 6 years of being a varsity high school head coach Napier posted a 92-26 record.

In 2017-2018, Napier was part of one of the best coaching staffs in the country at Denison University.  Under legendary coach Michael Caravana, Napier was the Goalie coach and assistant defensive coordinator.  The 2017-2018 Denison team would go on to beat 7 NCAA tournament teams during the regular season.  Denison won the NCAC tournament championship that year earning an automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA tournament.  The birth included a bye in the 1st round, and a win in the 2nd round before being knocked out of the tournament.

In the fall of 2018, Napier was hired as the defensive coordinator at Guilford College, which is a member of one of the toughest, most competitive lacrosse conferences in the country- the ODAC.  Napier formed all defensive schemes and was also the recruiting coordinator of the staff.
During the Winter of 2019, Napier was hired by interim-Athletic Director Seamus Gregory as the new head coach of Northland College.
