Overview

Lacrosse and Leadership Campers will leave camp with better individual lacrosse skills - from stick skills to shooting to defending. Campers will also develop a greater understanding of teamwork, what being part of a team means, and how to be an effective leader and what they can do to help make their team better—all while having fun! The Lacrosse and Leadership camps was designed to give young athletes the opportunity to work hard and improve in a fun, positive atmosphere—we guarantee it!

The leadership curriculum is taught both on and off the field.. In these sessions campers will hear stories anecdotes and lessons about the importance of leadership within teams and organizations. They will hear examples of great leaders, and what qualities or actions that helped define them as leaders. From these stories campers will learn how to define leadership for themselves, and how to inspire and lead your teammates.


About Our Coaches

Bill Rexford

Bill Rexford, a member of the Oregon Lacrosse Hall of Fame, started the first boys team in the state of Oregon and coached Glencoe High School to the state championship in just his third year. In 1997, Bill started another program at Century high school and coached them to state playoffs in their second year. From 1999-2002 he took over the head coaching job at Rye Country Day School. During this time, he was named Fairchester Coach of the Year by his peers. It was then back to Oregon, this time the High Desert, where he started one more program in Sisters Or. Bill oversaw a k-12 program with 200+ participants while capturing 100+ wins. In 2014, Bill earned US Lacrosse Oregon "Man of the Year" award for the positive impact he had on countless athletes through the state of Oregon. In addition to this award, Bill was also honored with two additional accolades, the National "Spirit of Sport Award" and the "Coach of the Year" for the High Desert Lacrosse League and most recently inducted into the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame for the Oregon Chapter. Bill now resides in Redding, CT and heads up the Wooster School boys lacrosse program, which are Western New England Division III Champions for 2016 and 2017.  He was inducted into the Staples Hall of Fame in 2022.   When Bill is not coaching he is often found on the field at men's league games and tournaments playing the sport he loves, lacrosse!


Camp Details

This session is available for Boys between the ages of 10-16.

9:00 Lacrosse Training – Individual Skills
11:00 Lacrosse Training – Positional Drills
12:00 Lunch
1:00 Outdoor Leadership Activities
3:00 Free Time, Lake, Fishing
5:00 Dinner
6:00 Scrimmages
7:30 Evening Activities

Check in on the first day will be at 3:00pm. Check out on the final day will occur at 11:00am, with closing ceremonies right before that. Parents are welcome to attend the final day  scrimmages from 9:00 - 10:30am.

Campers will stay in the cabins that house roughly 10-16 campers each
