Jessy Morgan is an Assistant Coach at UVA. A former All-American defender for the Cavaliers, Morgan helped UVa win the 2004 NCAA Championship and three ACC titles in her four years. The Baltimore, Md., native anchored a Cavalier defense that finished the 2006 season ranked sixth nationally in scoring defense. In addition, Inside Lacrosse named her a National Player of the Week that year for her accomplishments in helping UVa secure victories over back-to-back nationally ranked opponents. Morgan finished both her junior and senior seasons ranked third on the team in ground balls and second in caused turnovers.
Morgan returns to Charlottesville after serving as the head women's lacrosse coach at Howard University for two seasons. During her time with the Bison, Morgan coached the 2010 National Lacrosse Conference (NLC) Attacker of the Year, two NLC All-Academic Team members and three NLC All-Tournament Team honorees. On the national scene, Morgan was a two-time USA Developmental Team member and was voted the eighth-best African-American lacrosse player of all-time by Lacrosse Magazine. Jessy is an amazing coach who brings great experience, passion and energy to our camps.
