5 Lacrosse Drills That Will Help You Improve on the Field

You’re excited about attending a GameBreaker Lacrosse Camp this summer (and we’re excited to host you!), but do you need something to hold you over until it’s time to check in? What exactly could you do to effectively pass the time before having the most memorable week of your summer?

Well, thankfully, we have just the trick – some drills that will help you improve before even arriving at camp!

We’re proud to offer the best lacrosse training in the country thanks to an excellent staff. GameBreaker Lacrosse Camps are recognized as the national leader for lacrosse instruction and education, and there’s good reason for that! We like to think that our impact on you isn’t limited to what we’re able to get accomplished between your check in and check out times.

That’s why we have a bunch of instructional tips right on our website that you can participate in as much as you want. Check out the five drills below that we’ve picked out that you can use to help improve before it’s time to come to camp this summer.

Wall Ball Workouts

Looking for a fun and easy way to improve your fundamentals? Then check out this Wall Ball workout from the Lacrosse Network, which focuses on catching the ball crosshanded.

Individual Drills – Offense

This awesome video features Billy Bitter, who was a three-time All-American at the University of North Carolina. He covers everything a player needs to be a threat on attack while maximizing opportunities from behind the cage.

Individual Drills – Defense

If you’re trying to find a great video that covers middie defense a little more in depth, then this is for you. Anthony Kelly discusses the subject in under two minutes right here.

Face Offs

If you couldn’t get enough Anthony Kelly from the video on middie defense, then you’re in luck! We also feature a video with him talking about the different techniques involved in approaching face offs.

It’s less than three minutes and absolutely worth your time.

Goalie Drills

Why not learn tricks of the trade at goalie from one of the best? Kip Turner, 2010 MLL Goalkeeper of the Year is featured in this video and demonstrates several unique drills that can be easily worked into your pregame routine.

These drills will not only help you get better on the field, but they’ll also get your ready for what you’ll learn at one of our many GameBreaker Lacrosse camps this summer. Some of the skills we focus on include: defense (team and individual), dodging, shooting, fast breaks, ground balls, stick skills, clears, man up and man down, triangle offense and face-off and wing play.

So, are you ready? Make sure you spend some time doing these drills up until it’s time to come to camp, and you’ll be able to hit the ground running upon checking in and getting on the field!
